Dr. Ahmed Sultan is the Director of the Division of Artificial Intelligence Research at the University of Maryland School of Dentistry and the Division Chief of Diagnostic Sciences. He is dual board certified in oral medicine and oral & maxillofacial pathology and holds a PhD in Oral and Experimental Pathology. His work as author or co-author has been published in 93 journal articles and he is the Guest AI Editor for the Journal Head and Neck Pathology. He is PI or Co-I on several institutional and extramural grants and was recently awarded an FDA grant on an early warning flagging system using AI on dental imaging.
