Renato M. Silva, DDS, MS, PhD

Dr. Silva received his DDS from the University Gama Filho, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, in 1994. He pursued endodontic training and certification from both Brazil (University Gama Filho) and US (University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston). Dr. Silva also received his Masters (2002) and PhD (2006) in Oral Sciences from University of Sao Paulo in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Dr. Silva completed his post doctorate training in Human Molecular Genetics and also was an Assistant Professor at the University of Pittsburgh. Dr. Silva is currently Associate Professor and chair at the Department of Endodontics, at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston. Dr. Silva has also edited a textbook about Endodontic retreatment and has published several peer-reviewed articles in the field of Endodontics and human genetics. He also maintains a faculty practice limited to Endodontics.
